I grew up in Northeast Ohio and after a brief stint living in Florida I currently live in Columbus, Ohio with my wife kids.
Photography started for me with my interest in the outdoors. As a kid I was obsessed with all of it, the ocean, beaches, palm trees, forests, and I still am. It appealed to me in so many different ways beyond just being on vacation or somewhere that wasn’t school. I appreciated the nuance of it all. The sounds colors and shapes of nature. The unique smells of the ocean and palm trees in the early mornings before the sun came up. The deep vivd colors of the ocean along reefs and beaches. I remember thinking how cool the textures of the pine trees and rocks were outside my Grandpas cabin in Canada. The colors of the sun and how they could change so much and make everything around feel and look so different and unique always seemed magical to me. Photography became my way to capture it. I started young with point and shoot cameras just taking pictures of anything and everything. No technique or style. No post processing, printing, social media or anything like that. Just the pure satisfaction of feeling like I had captured the colors of the sand and palm trees.
As I got older I started to appreciate photography more as art. When I was introduced to the work professional landscape photographers were doing I was truly blown away. I knew I wanted to experience the world this way, to capture it and share it with whomever I could.
Photography has become my hobby, my addiction. If I’m not working or spending time with my family or friends, chances are I’m out somewhere with my camera. I work full time running a small company so I don’t travel for photography but I am extremely lucky that my life has been one filled with travel and taken me to lots of great places. I am grateful to have married someone who has the same appreciation for travel and the outdoors and now we love to travel with our kids and show them everything we can. I take photos anywhere and everywhere whether it is along the west coast of Vancouver Island or in the woods up the street at a local park. To me, that is what it is all about. Capturing the feeling of these places. Over the years I have amassed thousands and thousands of images and I want to share them with you.
